Data deletion request
Last updated: June 4, 2026
You can ask us to delete your Pirouette account and the personal information associated with it. This page explains exactly how to make that request, what gets deleted, what we may be required to keep, and how long it takes.
Please note: Pirouette is in pre-launch development, and these terms may be updated before public launch.
How to request deletion
Email hello@pirouettehq.com with the subject “Data deletion request,” or use the button below to open a pre-filled message. So we can find your records and confirm it’s really you, please include:
- the email address on your Pirouette account;
- your studio’s name;
- your role (studio owner, administrator, faculty, parent, or dancer); and
- what you’d like deleted — your whole account and personal data, or specific information.
We’ll confirm we received your request and may ask you to verify your identity — so we never delete someone’s data on a stranger’s say-so — and then process it as described below.
If you're a parent, dancer, or studio member
Pirouette is used by independent dance studios to run their operations. For the families and dancers in a studio, the studio decides what information to collect and is the controller of that information; Pirouette stores and processes it on the studio’s behalf.
Because of that, the quickest route for roster, family, billing, or dancer information is often to ask your studio directly. You can also email us at hello@pirouettehq.com — we will action the request for data we control and coordinate with your studio where the studio is the controller. Parents and guardians may request deletion of a child’s information.
What gets deleted
When we delete your account, we remove the personal information tied to it, which can include:
- your account and login credentials;
- your profile details (name, email, phone, role);
- a dancer profile and its enrollment, attendance, and progress records;
- messages and communications you exchanged through Pirouette, and your notification preferences;
- media you uploaded, where media features were enabled.
Card payments are processed by Stripe, and Pirouette does not store full card numbers. Deletion removes the billing details we hold, subject to the records we must keep below.
What we may keep, and why
A small set of records may be retained after deletion — only for as long as we have a legal or legitimate business reason, and then removed:
- Financial and transaction records (for example, invoices and payment history) where tax, accounting, or other laws require us — or your studio — to keep them.
- Security, consent, and audit records kept for a limited period to keep accounts accountable, prevent abuse, and meet messaging-consent obligations.
- anything we’re required to preserve to comply with a legal obligation or request.
We are finalizing specific retention periods for each record type as part of preparing Pirouette for launch. Retained records are limited to what is necessary and are not used to re-create your account.
How long it takes
We aim to acknowledge your request within a few business days and to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. If a request will take longer — for example, because we need to coordinate with your studio — we’ll let you know.
