Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
This policy explains what information Pirouette collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language and limited it to what is true today and what the product is built to do.
Please note: Pirouette is in pre-launch development, and these terms may be updated before public launch.
At a glance
- Today, this website collects one thing: the email address you give us when you request a studio readiness review. We use it to contact you about Pirouette - nothing else.
- The Pirouette application (the studio software itself) is in active development and not yet open to the public. The sections below describe how it is built to handle studio, family, and dancer information once studios are onboarded.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising on this site or in the product.
- Children’s data is minimized by design. Dancer records are kept deliberately small and are handled with COPPA in mind. See “Children’s privacy” below.
Who we are
Pirouette is management software for independent dance studios, operated by Tygart Nexus. When this policy says “Pirouette,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” it means the Pirouette product and the team that builds and runs it.
For studios that use Pirouette, the studio is the party that decides what information to collect from its families and how it is used. In that relationship the studio is the data controller and Pirouette acts as the studio’s service provider (processor), handling that information on the studio’s behalf.
Information we collect on this website
The only personal information this marketing website collects is:
- Your email address, when you submit the studio readiness-review form. If our sign-up endpoint is not yet connected, the form opens a pre-filled email to our team instead — either way, the only thing we receive is the email address you choose to send.
We use this email only to follow up about a Pirouette studio readiness review and to keep you informed about the product. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see “Your choices and rights”).
This site is a set of static pages. It does not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies, and it does not build an advertising profile of you. Your browser may store standard items needed to display the page; we do not use them to track you across other sites.
Information the Pirouette application handles
When a studio uses Pirouette to run its operations, the software is built to store the information a studio needs to manage classes, families, billing, and the season. Depending on the features a studio turns on, this can include:
- Studio and staff accounts — names, email addresses, roles, and login credentials for owners, administrators, and faculty.
- Family and guardian information — parent/guardian names, contact details, and billing information needed to enroll dancers and pay tuition.
- Dancer profiles — a deliberately minimized record for each dancer. Dancer records do not include a dancer email address, phone number, or home address.
- Classes, schedules, enrollments, and attendance — the day-to-day records that run the term.
- Messages and communications — emails, in-app messages, and (where a studio enables them) text messages and push notifications sent between the studio and its families, along with related notification preferences.
- Billing and payment details — tuition, invoices, and payment records. Card payments are processed by Stripe; Pirouette stores billing metadata and references but does not store full card numbers.
- Media — where a studio enables media features, photos, video, or audio (for example, choreography video) and related details.
- Operational records — audit logs, delivery records for messages, and consent records, which help keep accounts secure and accountable.
We collect this information to provide the service: to register dancers, run schedules and attendance, bill tuition, deliver communications a studio chooses to send, and operate the recital and competition tools. We also use limited diagnostic information to keep the product secure, reliable, and working correctly.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Dance studios serve children, so we have designed Pirouette to keep children’s data to a minimum and to handle it with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in mind.
- Dancer records are minimized. They do not include a dancer email address, phone number, or home address.
- Dancer access is intended to be controlled by a parent, guardian, or the studio. A dancer’s own standalone login is age-gated to 13 and over and is consent-gated.
- Parents and guardians can ask their studio, or us, to review or delete a child’s information. Studios using Pirouette are responsible for obtaining any parental consent required for the information they collect.
This marketing website is intended for studio owners and adults, and the early-access form is not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us at hello@pirouettehq.com and we will delete it.
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to run the service or as required by law:
- Service providers. Pirouette is built on trusted infrastructure and services that process information on our behalf. These currently include Supabase (application database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), and Resend (transactional email). Where a studio enables the related features, we may also use a text-messaging provider, a web push service, error and performance diagnostics, and cloud media storage. Each provider may only use the information to perform its service for us.
- Within a studio. Information is visible to the studio that owns the account, according to each person’s role (for example, faculty see the classes they teach).
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
- Business transfers. If the business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Payments
Card payments in Pirouette are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe’s handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy. Pirouette stores billing records and references needed to manage tuition and receipts, but does not store full payment card numbers.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide the service and for legitimate business and legal purposes. We are finalizing specific retention periods for each type of record as part of preparing Pirouette for launch.
When information is deleted, some core records may first be deactivated (soft-deleted) and then removed, and certain security, consent, and audit records are kept for a limited period for accountability. If you would like information about, a copy of, or the deletion of your information, contact us at hello@pirouettehq.com and we will work with you and, where relevant, with your studio to handle the request.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete the email you gave us through this website.
- Ask to access, correct, or delete information held in the Pirouette application (we may direct you to, or coordinate with, your studio, who controls that account).
- Unsubscribe from our early-access updates at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws. To exercise any of these, email hello@pirouettehq.com.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard the information entrusted to us and to keep our practices current.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated before general availability and from time to time afterward. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
